    You've a pump driven by the belt? I don't know much about those pumps, could that be the "exhaust" for the air expelled from the tank?

    That's good work @uytter . Well done. This is all from your photos so I'm not 100% on any of this advice but..... The valve looks like an on-off switch. An electrical isolation valve, if you wish. Keep the positive terminal of the battery set...

    Simple things first. Disconnect the batteries, leaving only the cable between them. What voltage do you get across the two batteries?

    Yes, whipped out the thermostat before blanking. Where have you got the intercooler mounted? I've got a small one here but was just slightly too big to fit with the electric fan in place.

    Mine is a disco timing chest, defender manifolds, Skoda fabia RS intercooler, mocol oil cooler, battery over the relay, shuffled forward. Turner head and diesel Bob high power IP. I really like it. Got some upgrades coming, though.

    Gauges are unreliable in accuracy, but good for a trend. If the lower hose is cold then it's probably okay, assuming the thermostat opens. The voltage regulator in the dash needs an earth and is essential for gauge operation.
