Well todays the day that I’ve been waiting 6mths for …. Its painting time …. Few minor adjustments with the mixing ratio and Ive got the hang of this Selamix 5-1-20%
Spray booth started to take shape, slight upgrade from the mk1 with a forced inward air fan with filter duct. Hopefully this should provide a positive air pressure to avoid any chances of dust ingress. Collected 5lts of PPG selemix today so...
New rear tailgate etched ready for primer along with some new heavy duty steel front wings. Have to admit they are so much stronger that ali ones, not that much heavier and shouldn’t cause any galvonic affect or corrosion to the bulkhead.

Glass removed a little tidying up of the welds with the flap disc, a quick once over with 80 grit on the DA and they are ready for...
Air filter housing all cleaned up and painted, couldn’t get any landy spring clips but ordered some JCB ones that are very similar and after a bit of fetteling should fit
Been a while since I updated or in fact done anything due to a sinking cold. That said Ive cleaned and sprayed all of the front seat frames and sliders, cleaned up all the galv pieces and got the galv bulkhead etched and primed.

Yes price is per kg, not sure how much that is at the moment. Previously Ive sent them to Roften in Merseyside but this time they are heading to Shropshire galv.
I’ve had two bulkheads galvanized so far and had no issues, if they do decide to drill a hole I can always fill it in with lead solder before painting, I’ve used this method on galvanized front bumpers to fill in the end cap holes. Beauty with...
