Afternoon folks :). Doing little jobs here as have builder/s here. Put the pool pump in and now its running a couple of hours a day. tried to pump the water/tadpoles off the top cover, but the pump kept blowing apart, (yes I got wet) dont know...

Well my arms are bruised and ripped but the starter motor has been changed 😎 Needed to remove the dashboard and steering column then loosen the brake master cylinder to gain acces to the bolt on the engine side. New starter a lot better and...

I don’t think it’s the manifold. It’s been fully rebuilt so it’s still fairly clean so it’s easy to see soot marks.

I suppose it is because the exhaust gases squeezing through the narrow gap between where it has warped and the head make the noise. If you are worried about this, look at it and you should be able to see soot marks where it is happening. Sadly...

Since everything else seems to need replacing on this cursed truck I wouldn’t be surprised. I am wondering though how a warped manifold makes turbo whistling noises 🤷‍♂️

2000 MYs didn't have to have them. My 2000 TD5 Disco doesn't have one either.

Without wishing to teach Granny to suck eggs, when I thought mine was doing that it turned out to be a warped exhaust manifold. Just saying, like. !
