What are the wolf copies like generally? decent enough?
I keep eyeing up those sets of wheels on ebay etc, new rims with tyres as right now I have a set of 7.50 x 16 Deestone MTs in the garden, which are alright but noisy and a bit hard...
I have no experience of these carbs on the V8s but I'd just whip them off and take them apart as much as possible to try and figure out whats going on.
They do look like pretty simple carbs to be fair, simpler than the Weber on my 17H... and even...
Round 2 with the fuel lines today, got them both replaced after taking the wheel off, and another trip out to get some new pipe as I had some too big and some other too small.
In taking the wheel off I found a leaking wheel cylinder as well...
So I decided it was fuel line replacement day... yeah, maybe a little overdue as this is the rear section of return line, dated 2015!
I replaced that fine, and then I went for the feed line which is even older... got that off but I'm yet...
Im not sure on the seal in the axle. I know the rear axle doesn't have any seals as its a Salisbury, the front might still have them, but as with most rubber things after 37 years, they might not be the best!
I get that gear oil is far from the...
Ok so back story, I knew there was pressure building up in the front axle from when I changed the diff oil but kinda ignored it... Some time later I was changing the wheels over and noticed some play in one of the wheels. Suspecting a bearing I...
Check your breathers and pop the drive flanges off to see whats going on! This is exactly what I've been dealing with recently on the front axle of my 1988 110... totally blocked breather seems to have forced the oil from the axle out the ends...
When im done with this that'll be both fronts done with new Timken bearings! I think the rears seemed ok last time I checked so hopefully they're good for a bit longer at least.
The front axle breather was blocked so I think that's at least...
Yeah I have another kit so not a huge deal, I just planned to be lazy as I don't have that much time before I head off on friday.
I think they're from the rollers, the inner race has marks too but not as bad, and they're only on one side of the...
I've just taken my nearside hub off hoping to repack the bearings rather than renew as I did with the other side due to oil getting into the bearings from the axle... Yeah I don't think I'll be repacking with races like this... I guess that's...
That looks like someone has really gone to town on it! I hope mine doesn't end up looking like that when I come to change my bushes!
I have all the bushes and new bolts to do it, just need some time to get around to it as i'll be DIYing it...
Mine is constantly somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2, it's like fuel roulette. I really need to look into it, feeling like it very much could be an earth issue or something else electrical as I had issues with the temp gauge to begin with too.
If you live locally I would just go and look at it, if you don't know what you're looking for regarding rust etc take someone who does. Of course as people have said above check the VIN, everything needs to match, pay for a carvertical check or...
I think it looks quite nice. I think I'd prefer it if mine was that colour rather than your typical army/nato green.
Speaking of mine... day 3 of doing things, I dug into the misfire, played about with things, got it running better... nearly...
At it again for a second day in a row... finishing off the wheel bearing, which was easier said than done, having made a bit of a mistake yesterday! I got there in the end though, swivel housing refilled and went out for a drive. Still got a...
So today since I was off work I thought I'd make the very sensible decision and do some work on the 110... got a gas strut fitted on the rear door, refitted the chequer plate panel on the door and put one of those folding table things on it...
The heating in my 2.5 Petrol is actually alright to be fair! Although I know this is absolutely an exception and most will be cold... although you could always fit a diesel heater.
I do concur on the turning circle though, I have to reverse my...
No experience of either but the X Defend just looks quite weak to me... is that going to withstand more than a minute or two with a grinder? Probably not... it looks like you could just cut down one side of the hinge and then effectively only...
If you can figure out a cheap way of calling, some of the brokers may be able to help providing you have a UK address to give them and give them the exact model of the vehicle and specific modifications. Some people seem to dislike them but I'd...
That definitely works in your favour! I'm 31, 9 years no claims and its only just getting to the point where insurance prices are coming right down
Yeah as above the 90 should be easier and cheaper to insure, assuming it's not overly modified (within reason for a 40+ year old vehicle)... My 1988 110 costs just under £300 on a classic policy :D Half the price of my Audi!
Well I'm not quite sure exactly what the issue was but touch wood I've fixed it! Got her running again this afternoon after giving the float bowls another clean out, checking the float level and blowing out the needle valve. Then replacing the...
If its just something to work on together I wouldn't necessarily discount a 90, I mean at least they're a manageable size... or a later series for a restomod style build? I guess you don't really know what this child will want, they might even...
Fair point! I think ebay sold prices probably offer a better insight than ads, as they reflect what has actually sold... not what dreamers hope someone will pay!
I mean in my opinion you should still be able to get a project requiring chassis...
I think chancers and people who are convinced they're getting every penny they spent back make up a good proportion of sellers.... I mean people are entitled to ask whatever price they want, but of course if it's not realistic it will just...
I guess ultimately something is only worth as much as another will pay for it! I feel like its a typical case of sellers wanting top money for their cars but buyers wanting something for nothing.
There are a lot of dreamers out there, but if...
Also on the perished hoses... I still have hard lines running down the chassis but I know some of the rubber hoses need replacing, to be fair maybe the tank does too as theres a good amount of debris caught in the filter. It could be a case of...
