    Turns out to be a fault in the immobiliser system. Rear passanger door wiring damaged sending an error signal to the ECU.

    Noise has stopped now magically of its own accord. Removed the battery for a few hours the other day and when reconnecting it was much quieter. Since then it’s just gradually become quieter and had no issues since then. Car is still running fine...

    Loosen the earth lead on battery but leave it connected, switch ignition on then off and immediately disconnect the earth lead from battery, then remove the positive lead if you want to remove battery to charge or change battery. That is the way...

    Sounds like air might be getting into the fuel line, try bleeding the fuel system using the bleed sequence before starting, likely leak point may be at fuel pump connections. I do not know if the 2.2 bleed sequence is the same as the TD5...

    Most likely need to clear the fault. Find a diagnostics tool specific to defenders and clear the code

    There be air trapped in the ABS module and may need to have this bled out, may need a Nanocom to do it.
