Glad i don't live down under!!!

I wonder how long it will be before we catch on!?
Mind you, i bet you won't be allowed to work on an ev in...
I did some math too.. on my fuel bill again.. 25.1 on the dash vs 25.3 brim2brim.. i think that's about as close as you'll get with variations on when the fuel pump shuts off etc. Very happy!!
And it's still tons better since i did the gearbox...
Repairs that get you from where the crank breaks to a place you can install a new one. Very usefull when travelling to those countries, nothing you would use long term.
Get a thermometer on the high & low side pipe & compare the temperature.
FYI, my little Merc C180 Coupe wasn't getting cold at idle, so checked the pressures at idle & 2500rpm. All looked ok, but the vents weren't as cold as expected. Then I...
Don't mean to offend but if you don't know the difference between a brake pipe and a cable maybe best to get someone else to do the job of changing it, just saying.
I can say the compressor on mine doesn't run constantly or on Elliotts.
I'm not sure if it's designed that way as to not freeze one side of the system 🤔
Could also be a blend motor problem if it's not getting cold. The aircon on the P38 is functionally no different to most other cars of the same vintage, no specific P38 knowledge needed when filling apart from the type and amount of gas.
ok i can officially say, smart alternators are stupid!
bearing in mind i had fully charged the battery beforehand..
Drive to work and much of the time the voltage stayed around 12.0v, going up to 13.6 only when i took my foot off the accelerator...
no run out checks before or after the machining and a locking bolt drilled through the crank journal and then skimmed sheer skill :( let hope the crank shaft bearing regrind is as precise. love the health and safety sandals and loose clothing...
Hiya. Just my own opinion, but that is quite high for the earliest L322. I'd also add 200k km which is approx 125k miles, unless the gearbox has already been done do it straight away. If it has been done at the 70 -80k miles, you are getting...
Good luck matey, I was single when I came to France, to my surprise I met and eventually married a wonderful French lady having sworn to never marry again. 20 happy years together.
Last MOT was a pass with no advisories and the one before had a fail for something in the rear suspension. Nothing about transmission or rust.
Hope it was a proper MOT and not just a mechanic turning a blind eye for some extra cash...
Welcome. You have picked the right motor to learn mechanics, well advanced mechanics. All the best plus there will be plenty of help and assistance on here when you need it, don't be afraid to ask.
Just a thought it was. These engines don't like the cheap ones though. Once had 3 fail at same time which caused a total none start. A thought have you caught any of the glow plug wires changing the pump or even the wire to number 4 injector
