No, never changed any but had to get them out to replace cam cover gasket.
Refitted with new copper gaskets and ensured the bores were spotless before they went back in.
Don't appear to have any idling issues or misfires etc, seems to be...
Hi again guys
Hoping a little advice but I think I know the answer already.
Had error code P0314-01 Cylinder balance control error using IID Tool so looked at the Injector comp values. At idle got what was shown in the attached pic.
Under load...
That only resyncs central locking side of the fob as well. The chip read by the immobiliser is a magnetic chip in the key, no battery power, it works or it doesn't. A diagnostics machine is needed to code it.
I thought I'd quickly try something for you. Went out to the car, tried the dead key which was still in the glove box, checked error codes on the ecu, P1602
They're all mad.
TD6, key goes in, immobiliser tells column lock to release which feeds back if it has.
Immobiliser then releases the key lock.
Key turns to on.
Immobiliser then tells ecu it can inject fuel.
Turn key to start.
The starter on TD6...
When I had issues with my keys, the car would crank but not fire up. The immobiliser just tells the ecu not to inject fuel. The ignition switch still does the starter crank.
The filler was similar to silicon when dry, rubbery and prone to peeling rather than feathering out like body filler, pita but got it satisfactory eventually. First coat of black dye.
Looks straightforward enough to DIY to me. Looking closer at it...it doesn't look unfeasible to remove the leather and use that as a template to cut and sew on new stuff. Plenty of saddlers in Shropshire would probably have the gear and skills to...
If you want a professional job I'd recommend Royal Steering Wheels in Aylesbury. Had a Saab 9-5 steering wheel done by them and was amazing finish.
Bit of a trek but could post as an option. Or I pass by that way often and could LRFerry for you.
Wasn't sure if it was a basic box section grommet or if it had a profile to it like the BMW stuff for their covers.
The JGS link is where the screws go through so not sure if it'll be the same.
The part number is LYA000030 but everyone I've...
Hi guys, this is a bit of a daft one but my OCD is killing me 😂
The engine cover on the TD6 engine has a grommet which a pin on the cover clips into but I can't seem to buy one any more. Every where I try they come back as...
Sounds like a voltage issue. Not necessarily the battery, more something has partially shorted out causing a serious drain.
Try disconnecting the alternator. It may be semi-shorted out inside.
Also wondering if you have a seized...
Hub is all back together and car has been driven. No more clicky clicky grind crunch!
Thank you everyone for putting up with me!
To end the week, i just renewed insurance lower than last year!
Just need to get it tracked at the garage
Low resistance is normally the heater coil inside the sensor fusing together. Very very rarely wiring or connector issues. New sensor of the correct specification should sort that code, and as said earlier, will function fine once warmed up by...
The siren in my Saab failed for dead batteries and just sounded off, usually at 3am or when driving past police cars. May have a look to see if I can buy a new one as they're often glued together.
I like the chirps/beeps when locking and unlocking, extra peace of mind the car does what i want it to.
The keys were knackered when I bought the car and the fuse for the siren was pulled so it didn't sound when the previous owner got into the...
Hi guys.
2006 Vogue TD6
Bit of a strange one, got an intermittent siren issue.
The siren sometimes beeps with the central locking and sounds off if I open the doors using the key.
Other times it doesn't do anything.
Anyone had this issue...
Being new to a TD6 myself, I didn't know about the airbox trick. Will keep that in mind for the next time I'm threatening to set fire to the truck.
Thanks for the tip 😃
I second the left hand drill bits. I keep a decent stockpile of them for exactly this reason. If you get brass guides as well that can save the holes and threads of the block as they can help keep the drill centred. I'm lucky enough to have...
Looking at the engine from the front, the turbo is on the left of the engine.
The pressure hose comes off the turbo and into the intercooler at the front bottom left. The second hose comes out the intercooler bottom right and goes up to the egr...
Pressure tested the AC last week with UV dye and the condenser looks like an 80s pop star that had been shot with a shotgun. Holes everywhere. New condenser fitted today, regass, evaporated temp down to 1°.
Now we'll have 6 months of rain and cold.
