I have looked at the started, and to be fair I'm not confident it's any good. I have taken it out and shorted it and not firing, so next on the checklist is a new starter. Will keep you posted. Thanks

If the starter is clicking, then the ECM is probably sending the start signal to the start relay. It's not uncommon for the starter solenoid contactors to burn out, there's even a solenoid repair kit available to solve that issue for about £20.
So the key is accepted, all the central locking etc works.

Gorra be honest, never seen that before.
You've done a battery reset, next step could be hard reset, disconnect both battery leads and touch them against each other.
