Nav works cd changer still dead. Fan belt need changing but I knew about that

Of course it's not always the case, but often the bargain basement model was bought for a reason and likely not looked after/maintained to the same level as the top of the range model

GPS error has gone, the CD changer is still dead. Will be multi metering the loom over easter. Need to see if HU fried or CD changer. Looking at new car HiFi, most look like giant phones, rather naff to be honest. Can't find any CD changers...

D2 is a great daily drive, lovely and comfortable, can't see a Hilux being a better car for either road, or laning.

A D2 is no more an off roader than a D3, unless you like to bolt big wheels and lift kits to them. If you are paying labour then you can easily spend 1k a year no problem.

No idea, need a D3 expert to say.

Mileage, if high and on original engine, I would suspect it was one of the engines made with a good crank. AFAIR 3 suppliers, 1 duff, 2 OK.

Interior is mainly dust and bits rather than grubby, but may be removing seats for a repaint to save masking the insides.

Says NAV CD I think. when I press CD, just got it back, code in, still need to debass it, crap radio channel but no CD. What are the things to check, been battery off for a while, and they did not have the code. Taking it back will cost me taxi...

37xx in the end, after labour, most expensive thing was new side steps

Buy a block off a breaker, dismantle, get all 6 holes drilled with flats inside to handle 1/4" BSP. Swivel, 2m hose, 14mm banjo ,x 4 Pump short pipes 3/8 BSP to compression fittings on the cut off pump pipes.

In that case the system becomes "floppy" with clear technical reasons, i experienced it myself with loaded vehicle when i lost the fluid due to a massive pipe leak and at higher speed it can be tricky(to not say dangerous) while cornering hard...

MM 4x4 organised it, they had it for a few days, ordered the bits, then took back last Monday

So far 1/4 chassis, new side steps, new fuel pump, new exhaust. Hope to get it back near end of week
