Sadly, a cracked head is more likely than a blown gasket. I have one like that. I found new heads on the internet at the time for about €800, no idea if they are still available,

Yes ta, 800 miles and only 2 faults. Temp said -22 in Cornwall, and check brake pads which I did and they were still there, they were still there 315 miles later when I got home :)
