Resistance measurements for a brand new rear height sensor shaft pointing up.
Across the outer pins 1200 ohms.
Across the centre to left outer pin 1080 to 2110 ohms as the arm is rotated.
centre to right outer pin 1180 to 2260 ohms as the arm...
Thanks for that. They are similar figures to what I could see. I may swap them over and see if the fault moves or stays.
But I think in the end you are right, get 2 and that should eliminate them. Island 4x4 do OEMs which are £££, Eurospares...
Wet snow for more than an hour, it didn't settle, followed by rain for the rest of the day, freezing cold. Thick fog this morning but at least it's a little bit warmer at 8C
Well back home ended up on more adventures then planned, just over 2000miles blasted out in total, i think the gearbox may be feeling it now though got a flared shift into 3rd from cold today with trailer on all seems fine other wise but the...
So I find that no fuel is coming out of the pump out hose (blue) though the pump is running. Somewhat unbelievably, the new in-tank fuel pump assembly I fitted is defective. I took it all out again and I saw that the fuel delivery pipe inside the...
don't worry about the stains, just check that it is flat. This is the base of my 2.5 dt when I closed it, it has stains but it was perfectly flat and does not leak
I set up an account with TFL for all of my vehicles in January, went to a funeral in the ULEZ a couple of weeks ago and got the £90 fine on Saturday for non payment. Turns out, the account I set up on their intentionally impossible to navigate...
That cap takes a bit of effort to get off.
Was it serviced recently?
I would bung it with something for now (till the new 1 arrives) then clean off the engine.
Oil coolers leak down the back of the engine (ours did )
The biggest problem...
It is indeed and i had one just fall off my E Class Merc years ago. Oh how confused I was to find it on the ground. Until I worked out what it was. Good news was, the Merc never required it's services :)
Pretty sure they just lever out and pop in with lube(and some help).
Think the only use for the hole is to set the EAS calibration blocks in the right place.

If it dropped with schrader valves fitted, then there is a leak. That problem needs sorting before you can progress.
How old are the air springs? The design life is 8 years 80K miles, put it up to max height with the schrader valves and check...
Replaced the control arm ball joint today with massive help from @Flossie , don't think i could have done it on my own! I'm rubbish at thinking my way out of problems but I'll remember for a next one!
Thank you :)
The locking works because triggering the button microswitch (i.e. CDL switch) makes the BECM thinks you're inside the car & want all the doors to lock. Conversely when unlocking using the button, the mod makes the BECM think you want to unlock...
It gets more complex with waves between different models.
We've been here a few times over the years.
Post in thread 'The landy wave?' https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/the-landy-wave.382890/post-5453308
The country setting does lots of things. In the USA, for security reasons, on many cars only the drivers door unlocks on a single FOB press, not sure if that applies to the P38 as I have never tried it but worth a look.
Don't worry about the staining, as long as it's not raised or dented but flat and checked with a straight edge to be found good you can rebuild it. 👍 If you start scrubbing and remove any metal at all you'll run the risk of a burn through or...
I've always had best results using Permatex on the valley gasket. Around the corner coolant passages both sides (as shown in post 119), but also a thin bead along the actual block where the rubber seals go.
Also make sure you don't overtighten...
