I did mine on a two poster, split tfer box off gearbox, biggest arse was some bracket on top of the flywheel/gearbox housing, car did have rear a/c which might have had something to do with it.
Have you physically looked in the wheel arch to see if the air suspension ride height sensor and the abs sensor plugs and wiring are all okay?
You really need the fault codes before you go any further.

Would start on three and smoke like a trooper, then might take 5 Or 50 miles for the non working cylinder to start running again, sometimes remove filter and fill with cleaner would get it going sooner, in the end fitted one of my spare...
Not very often, and they are a pain to fit. Also often find the splines are worn anyway. Best off replacing the whole arm which isn't too expensive or converting to a Discovery type drop arm and drag link.
If you choose the top selection ^^^^ you will need a big socket and possibly a puller.
Choose a lower selection and you may need some clamps and patience, cos getting that bottom plate in and the circlip is fun.

Iirc pedal height is set via the bolt on top front of the steering box, assuming your car has it, the nut you are adjusting is the master cylinder freeplay which only needs a small clearance.
So if you have the pedal bolt, adjust that first, then...
Most v belts are either 3/8 10mm wide, or 1/2 inch 13mm wide, you want the 3/8 10mm wide version, so all you need is the length is normally printed on the belt, for example 10x 765 meaning 10mm x 765mm length.

Straight through suits a turbocharged unit because the exhaust gas as it passes through the turbo gets smoothed out resulting in less of a bang.
If they are the same as the 200tdi, you just ping them up and the buckle releases.
