Have you looked at Harper adams college.? They have a superb Ag Eng department and Off road vehicle design etc. They have a good blend of hands on and academic stuff going on. I highly recommend it to you, plus there's lots of demand for qualified ag engineers at places like CAT and JCB (at the moment) where you can have a good long-term career. It's what I did anyway, and I get paid handsomely to drive/modify/improve and test all sorts of new off road construction and ag vehicles. 'hope this helps. good luck
