Unexpected situation, lost bolt somewhere in Greece on Mount Olympus, on a front brake caliper! ..... and again in battle. 😁 🍺

Looks like another well organised job. It's a pleasure to watch your updates. You remind me how I ought to do things. Interesting to see some parts came from Rimmer Bros. I was in there on Saturday morning as they are just across town from where...

Anyone else got this channel fitted? Maybe @Wagon Loon you have this? Once I get this right I’ll get the installation finished. Meanwhile I fitted the grab rail, as I was fed up tripping over it 😊

Somewhere I think, when I start on it I'll be sure to make a thread, if not for anything else than the motivation from the well wishers! 😊

Mate! Just caught up on this, spectacular thread, and work! I'm in the middle of doing up a house that we're living in, and keeping my 90 on the road and family life etc etc is taking up alot of time right now, so I'm in awe of your motivation...

I’ve been having great fun aligning the roof, side panels, ‘b’ posts and windscreen today 🤬. Had to resort to some tweaking with ratchet straps to get the bulkhead into a better position. Also had to do the same with the ‘b’ posts. I’ll tighten...

I've heard about using grease. Seems a good thing. I like hylomar as well but I have a feeling it's not best on the carb.

I make myself more work by wanting to fix everything. I should go route of least resistance and get a new one. I could then keep the old one and faff about with it to my hearts content later on after the landy is back on the road.

Well, if the worst came to the worst you could treat a "new" one as a spares kit for the original so it retained its authentic patina of aging?

It's a thought isn't it? I just keep reading about people getting those and then never being able to get them running right. I'll see how many problems I get putting the old one back together and how fed up of it I get. Thanks for the advice Dan.

I would spring for a new unit myself. I think the price is reasonable (but that's just me). <£100 to get something where the components are not mismatched might be a good buy. I paid more than this for my SU carb rebuild kit.

One of the many things in life that annoys me is rubbish quality gaskets. Here's the original for this doohickey on top of the carb. Then here's one of the ones they sent with the refurb kit (both were as bad as each other) It doesn't even...

Carburettor. What do you do? Best option, send to a specialist and give it the works. Can't really afford it. Change to a Weber. I stupidly want to keep the original one. Buy a Chinese replacement. I hear they can be lots of trouble. I'm going to...

Latest dash bits. Still got a bit of fettling and shaping to do before covering in vinyl but definitely coming on. I can't think of a way to replicate the indented oval shape over those three spare gauge holes so will have to live without it...

Thought I would take the opportunity to use my son to give me a hand to lift the roof for a trial fit. Not too bad a fit but will definitely need some jiggling around to get a better fit!

Followed the same process as the other side to clean, paint, seal and install the window channel. It was a bit more challenging but i got there. Need to go and buy another rivet gun now!

I gave the two stainless rails a polish to get rid of some rusty marks to make them a bit better looking. Although I am surprised that they are still good after all these years. After cleaning them I started riveting them on, then my rivet gun...
