The methods, hanging weights off and doing maths, is very obvious and not a problem.
My problem is finding the mech to do any adjustment, especially as the high power one...

The bolt holes usually go all the way through, they get crusty at the bottom due to rusty water and block up below the bolt.
Yours may not be drilled and tapped all the way though, not sure if all were the same
