That's them. Thanks for your help. It has never had steps on while I've owned it so they must have been cut down a long while back. I can;t recall removing the left over bits but they can head for the scrap. Cheers

Sorry — didn’t think to update you. It’s sorted now. The mechanic said the adjuster (at the master cylinder I assume) was wound right the way out and he hadn’t adjusted it when he fitted the new clutch. My theory is that the fluid expanded in...

Very nice. Those little tractors and often their Land Girl drivers did much to keep Britain from starving in WW2. Neighboring farm still used one in the 60's. I drove it some as a youngster and had to stand both feet on the combined clutch/brake...

I'd go with an Old man Emu kit if I wanted a lift. They are very highly regarded. You'll need caster corrected front arms id say as a minimum with any lift above 1". A standard pound foot rated spring if you use it for normal landrover duties...

I've got the necessary stuff to do it myself. What I don't got is the time. When we are young, we give up our time for money. When we are old, we give up our money for increasingly precious time.

TV's Mythbusters proved it is possible to polish a turd, but a turd is still a turd even if there is a shine on the outside. Checking and sorting any issues with chassis, bulkhead and running gear is what should come first.

After being away for the week, the old girl (1985 90" with a 1991 200 TDi) refused to start. I suspected fuel starvation, so tickled the lift pump, tighted all the hose clips and all was well. I ordered a new lift pump kit just to be sure. On...

This is the best design only fixed to the rear crossmember and has a ball joint and rubber connector between the door and carrier so no weight on the door. When fitted correctly it also takes away the rear door rattle. Not cheap though, around £750.

Yes I think it's just heating and cooling and vibration over 13 years that's done it. Yes indeed, there's certainly been a lot of discussion on Landyzone about how stainless is not recommended for loadbearing bolts.
