Was that the one near Bath? I went on the Saturday, wasn't too bad. Few bits for sale, nothing exciting. Lots of Land Rovers (duh), and some food stalls. Good selection of Land Rovers to be fair, everything from rough with 'patina', up to...
There’s a series of meet-ups for land rovers across the country organised on FB under the name of Tea on the Tailgate which are getting popular. There are some quite local to me which I will try to get to, subject to other commitments. Has...
This was on again over the weekend. It has had more online advertising this year so hopefully it was better attended. Did anyone go? I worked so couldn’t attend.
Having a look at trail wise and found it a bit helpful. Some lanes I had looked on the OS map have TRO/VRO or advise to only go 1 way. Yes some of this info goes back a few years,so a sites is only as good as the info supplied
Still route...
Pig was meant to be a pig. I bloody love this car though 😂 best 2k I ever spent (the hole in the pocket after purchase doesn’t count - that’s just disco tax)
Day in the man hut today… another productive day, cleaning screen hindges, bulkhead flaps, window claps, and heater box, everything ali was epoxy etched, then everything primed. Heater box and dash panel rust treated then sprayed black. Will need...
Good evening all hope you're all well, thought I'd post a pic or two from today's classic car show, was the perfect day for it to, unfortunately I almost didn't make it to the show as 3 minutes away from there I got T boned at a junction ( other...
I know this has been done before and there is lots of information out there with the glencoyne being the definitive guide for this (link)
With many thanks going to @RustyDefender I have a 300tdi engine to fit to my sons '88 110 (Thread link)...
Bit of an update to this, my 110 (red) now as a station wagon is perfuming flawlessly as expected. I still prefer the hard top body but this is the sacrifices you make by having children. There has been more times that I have had to use the...
Been doing little stuff while I’ve not had a chance to get gas. Also been doing bits on pig.
So much corrosion was on rear quarter. I dug it all out, then epoxy primered, then filler, then etched the bare stuff then dolphin glaze.
Stripped rear...
Oh yeah, forgot to say, also fitted my (new to me, but very old) series 3 steering wheel to the 90.(bit of a game researching 36 or 48 spline wheels, and went down a weird rabbit hole with the whole subject!) 🤦♂️
I've always hated the look of...
Fitted my new OE (landrover) fuel pressure regulator on the td5 this morning, took my time, pressure washed it all first, took about 1.5 hours with being a bit ocd about cleanliness, but no leaks and very happy, I was surprised at how easy it was...
That’s for a tool roll mate. Bit rough but it works. Base plate on mine sat behind the passenger seat but I use a bottle jack instead of the original one, bit safer I thought.
The heater in a Defender, when working ok and properly sealed, is sufficient for the UK climate. Using Vaseline on door seals stops the doors from sticking to frozen seals and a good radiator muff like the exmoor trim one helps.
Don’t just paint with the likes of hammerite, it won’t last. The best bet is as above, shot blasted, zinc coated and then painted. The steps are exposed to salt and muck from the road so need doing properly.
