So after a marathon, months long period of work @Nodge and myself have finally got my old girl all sorted. A couple of minor issues remain but we are basically back. Thanks also to @andyfreelandy too. Just need to get the handbrake up to full...
Well after your intial adjusting may not have had satisfactory results I can say that since getting home the handbrake appears to be improving slightly. I think some warmth in the shoes is helping
A time saving update.
Doing the headliner in the Sport now. Tried taking all one side trim out then folding back seat and winding front seat back on the same side. Headliner drops and un hooks from side with trim still fitted.
Means you only...
The brake shields on mine are a right old jaggedy mess. It'll be going in for MOT in a week or so, so I'll report back on what the outcome is. Mind you, the last test at the same "strict" Council workshops I've used for years gave me a pass...
Took the F1 along for its WOF today. Took it into the wash bay at work first and gave it a good clean up and water blast. It always looks great when its had a wash.
It was getting late when I dropped it off, so left it in the lines of cars to...
F1 Freelanders are very well proportioned beside stupid looking fat modern SUV's.
Every time I park mine in a carpark I glance back with a little pride while walking away.
Just some progress as we are wrapping up our preparations. Larry is almost good to go, a few little service things to do still (see my other topic.. ;-))
Left out the roof rack in the end due to the weight in combination with the rooftop tent...
Replaced the drop links yesterday.
Fookin Land Rover unreliability. Only been on the car 25 years.
They still felt perfect when I took them off, but a boot was split, so I was told they need replacing when it was last WOFed and its due again...
Hope the new ones last reasonable time. Anything I have replaced, even when using genuine or OEM parts, never seem to last as long as the original parts.
I'm afraid I'm nowhere near knowledgable to contirbute thoughts as to the possible causes of this one, but, I'm interested none the less so keep the updates coming.
I'd ignore how long the reader says the MIL has been on. The issue for the OP is why is it lighting up on the dash momentarily with a corresponding loss of power, and low mpg.
@manoleandreigabriel@gmail When you apply full throttle, is there...
Definitely a rare one this. I'll be interested to see how the investigation goes. The main oil leak on mine over the years was from one of the turbo bolts, twice.
Last few days I've been playing with the VCU firmware trying to figure out if it was possible to have regen.
It should hopefully help improve the range a bit but even more important it should take some pressure off the brakes.
At the moment the...
It's a job I'm sort of looking forward to doing to see how good a job I'll make of it. I doid a boat building apprenticeship years ago and doing headlining was one of the jobs I quite enjoyed. I'm just not looking forward to removing all the 20...
Clutch is done and it all feels like a new Hippo at the pedal. Was it worth doing? Hell yes. 806km, 50,5litres today. 45mpg. This car has a lot to give yet.
I've already applied a similar tactic, with some plastic covered drawing pins and some superglue
Whilst the first bit of this is true, the trim is not holding mine up at the moment :p
I actually wrote that at the end, but then removed it as it sounded too negative (I am still English after all) :D
But you are absolutely right, and I do intend to report back
That wont be until spring when I pop back to mum's and can pick it up.
I'll keep it going as long as I can. Next job on the preservation front is some corrosion prevention on the sills, and the next cosmetic job is the chuffing headlining, which has bothered me for two or three years now. Must pull my finger out!
