Hi can anybody advise please .. i have a 1998 land rover freelancer petrol 1.8. i used the car yesterday no problems at all went to start it this morning and it turned over as normal but would not start. i can smell petrol so no problems with fuel getting to engine , i have cleaned spark plugs and charged the battery after running it flat ... any ideas what could be wrong ...

Hi can you help me please .......
i am so fed up with my freelander it has been off the road all bank holiday and i really do need to get this problem sorted.....
I own a 1998 freelander 1.8 xei petrol,
I turn the key lights come on the dash as normal turn the key and nothing.....
It used to start if i was lucky but now nothing just a click from the relay and a click from the solinoid
I have replaced the starter motor and it started, but when i came to restart it the same problem again so had to bump it ....heavy car !!!!!!
I have read on some forums it could be the ignition switch ..... i have taken the covers off around my steering but could not see any problems ....... loose wires etc ....
