I object to that. I'll have you know I just had a bath and it's not even summer yet. Although I couldn't see the bottom of the bath when I got out, it was a bit cloudy. Maybe next time I'll have the first bath instead of the oinker. 😁
Take the round back plate off(by the handbrake) remove the gear. As splines may be worn & holding it on…
Or some one has put a nut on the end of the shaft for fun

I'm a big fan of Lanlin based coatings but the chassis does need to be clean and as much as possible rust free (rust treated) first and then its a yearly thing to keep on top of it.
Lanoguard is the original and there are plenty of other makes...
Been Quiet while my Wallet Recovers.
Have optimised my available settings and it goes very well indeed. 1/4 turn on Fuel screw, timing correct and aneroid set full rich. It flies, makes 19psi at full throttle and the EGT has still not breached...
Oil and filters today and a check over to see if anything looks out of place...nothing stands out for once,it'll get a good clean underneath and touch up paint where jack has been and coupla other bits that need a touch up. Pretty easy jobs for a...
Thank you for adding to the conversation, it's great to know I'm not alone. One of the first things we did before trying to start it when we rolled it out of storage was to drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel.
In addition, "Uncle...
Did a bit of welding on Saturday, did some more on Sunday. Guess what I did today? Yes that's right I did a bit more welding!
Atleast I have finished that bit now, just have to do the next bit and by the time I have done that I am sure another...
So, following on from last week after draining out the fuel. The next morning, I only preceded to run out of fuel on the way to the petrol station! It became obvious quite quickly how unprepared I was, having broke down on a busy but narrow...

I am afraid this is not a Land Rover item. It is fitted to a torque tube extender mount to the body of a Grinnall TR7V8. The back axle is a Rover SD1 item, but extender mount is smaller than the Rimmers offered item for this vehicle, so it's a...
Pig is leaving today. Going to a chap who I instantly liked and who is going to be doing a restoration on. Sad day but I also got a new lovely daily and a new gun yesterday so the pain is minimal 😂.
It makes me really happy that the guy loved it...
And as @marjon says do not use those blue "scotch block" connectors. There are other similar products today that work the same way today by squeezing the wire between two thin metal bits while splitting the sheath, contact area is very small and...
If it worked right before then just change like for like in the new socket.
Or you could trace the wires back to the origin ( probably 1 of the back light areas)
