Another idea would be them sun shades you can get in Halfords (and other places) to put on side windows to protect babies and such like. Quite often held on with little suction cups, easy to remove when you want to use the sunroof.
I don't think anyone is saying it isn't a thing. They are mandated for most cars drag racing if you go over 'x' speed or run 'y' time. But rarely are they a factory fitted item on most vehicles or 4x4's. And certainly never in the case of the...
Great comments above and it is down to experience. For me the 300TDI is a solid choice and I don't care about A/C or any luxuries. The Defender is to thrive and feel alive with a huge smile on the face.
Just to set minds at ease i am not going to pioneer this. If someone with these engines had success, I thought it would be a novel way to help my 109" since the brakes are ever a challenge. I am not risking my motor thought. If you think a...
Well I have made one. See how it goes.
Not content with the bracket rusted out, I then turned my attention to the bracket (hook thing) that resides in the bumper. That is ok one side, totally missing the other. So it looks like I need to make...
Instrument lights should be off until lights are on.
Look by the hazard switch for a light switch. Give that a move and see if anything happens .(it does interior light & insruments lights)
What is a matter with the trailer brakes?
In good order the trailer brakes will be coming on with only a normal light touch on the towing vehicles brakes.
And the more weight there is in the trailer the harder its brakes should come on. Or is...
Good report 10/10 for the TD4 Sport Auto.
Never missed a beat. 1650 miles. Overall average 34.6 mpg. That included a week on Mull in 3rd and 4th gear. Motorway runs averaged 36.5 mpg at a steady 70mph over 450 miles.
Took a bag of spares, lp...
When the exhaust gasses are pushed back into the engine to slow it down…
It don’t work in my daily,I would not even bother to put it on a LR.
@wrickm i would just change down a gear & use engine braking instead.your in more control.
Never heard of such a thing. The prop will be fine, it's the UJ that might fail, surely?
Hoop, unless they specify. A metal cable like a trailer 'break away' attached to the crossmember should be fine?
After a LOT of faff yesterday, I managed to syphon out 60L of contaminated diesel. I've put 500ml of low ash 2 stroke in the tank and I'm going to fill her up today and keep filling her up every time I've used a 1/4 of a tank or less. Thanks...
Last weekend's job: installing a new headunit to replace the chinese android unit I had for the last 7 years.
Unfortunately, because the old one was double din and mounted to the 'large' part of the dash, I had to buy a new Mud Dash.
If anyone's...
I have a couple of similar repairs to undertake on my replacement station wagon tub. My plan was to use tigerseal (or sikaflex, i am not brand loyal!) to glue the repair plate in place along with some rivets. I am not trying to achieve a perfect...
Have used sikaflex. Hold the doors/windows onto the side of a horse lorry.
Also used this for blanking off alpines/rear door/rear passenger doors with Ali.
Yep it’s pricey but worth it.
Can’t remember if it contains stuff that paint don’t...
