I recently purchased a 1970 Series IIa ex-military Marshall-bodied Ambulance, which was stationed at the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) in Alberta, Canada. The vehicle is in good condition for its age, with only 17,000 miles on it.

I have been working on/restoring cars as a hobby for almost 40 years, starting even before I got my driver's license. I've been on an extended hiatus for about 10 years due to "life" reasons, but recently been wanting to get a new project. I saw this vehicle advertised for a couple of months and after doing extensive research and multiple discussions with the owner, sharing pictures and videos, decided to buy it sight-unseen and had it shipped from Alberta to Ontario.

My plan is to first work on getting it road worthy and become familiar with the vehicle and its military-specific functions and parts. In the future, my wife and I will likely convert it to use for camping and longer road trips across Canada.
