Looking good.
I'm not sure what facilities are in petrol stations where you go, but I'd be taking a tyre pressure gauge and a 12v (or foot) pump. If you haven't found out yet - 4 matching tyres of the same brand and model are a must on...
F1 Freelanders are very well proportioned beside stupid looking fat modern SUV's.
Every time I park mine in a carpark I glance back with a little pride while walking away.
Took the F1 along for its WOF today. Took it into the wash bay at work first and gave it a good clean up and water blast. It always looks great when its had a wash.
It was getting late when I dropped it off, so left it in the lines of cars to...
If they didn't, it would be a good idea to - even if none spilled.
If they do it, warn them to release the fill bolt first as it is really soft and often causes problems if not taken off very carefully.
On the L Series diesel, the timing of injection is all done by the pump, but the TD4 is by the injectors, the pump just provides the pressure to the common rail.
However, isn't it driven by the timing chain?
That being the case - yes, you would...
Your first problem, well actually 2nd after spending quite a bit of cash on 2 drive shafts!, will be getting the hub nuts off.
They are on super tight. Be prepared to battle with them. Scaffold poles over breaker bar and jumping up and down -...
This may sound stupid, but can other people hear this whine? My L Series was making a funny sound. My family could not hear it, 2 garages could not hear it. But the 2nd one I instructed to change the cambelt anyway. End result was a louder...
Yes. Just 2 wire clips top and bottom.
Many places sell boots. I use Poly ones as they last longer. Measure top and bottom diameter and depth and get nearest.
I use https://gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/product-category/polyboots/
Replaced the drop links yesterday.
Fookin Land Rover unreliability. Only been on the car 25 years.
They still felt perfect when I took them off, but a boot was split, so I was told they need replacing when it was last WOFed and its due again...
The lower priced one is a TD4 (160hp) with 80k on the clock.
The higher priced one is an SD4 (190hp) with 43k on the clock.
They are bound to be different prices.
My TD4 has ample poke for me.
Mine does that. It stops for a while, then when you think its cleared, it comes back. Maybe I just get used to it and don't notice it for a while.
I recon its the Haldex rather than diff.
There's something about a cylinder that get scored and...
Way above my pay grade, especially on F2.
But a little investigation makes me wonder why a spacer was "made up". It looks like the ring changed spec, so a 2 piece ring (that would have been originally fitted to an 07 car) was replaced by a ring...
If the battery is dropping to 8V when cranking, then it's FUBAR. The battery voltage should hold about 11 Volts, or there won't be sufficient voltage to spin the engine fast enough for a start.
I was at my wealthiest at 25.
Had my own flat, no wife, no kids, loaded. Its the next 30 years where you struggle!
Then there's a brief period of wealth, before, presumably, you struggle again.
So the rusted rear lights seam to be working and couldn't be causing a random short circuit?
I'd be stripping them down and making sure they, and the wiring, is in good condition before looking for the complex answers.
I'm not sure why they...
Not sure why Freelanders would be 'targets' for theft.
They have little value and parts are cheap. Plenty being auctioned for nothing because they have been crashed.
I'm sure the standard security provided in Freelander is more than adequate...
At work we have a fleet of about 130 LDV vans.
'LDV New Zealand' agreed we could act as the service center for our vans - ie we could service them and maintain the warranties and get support from them. As part of that we bought $10K diagnostic...
When I got my F2 it had just had a service including new pads.
They squealed real bad in reverse. Took a long time to go away. Must have had it a year now and they still squeal sometimes.
