    Fitted a stereo with DAB and Bluetooth (complete with external microphone). Works very well. Can change the colour to match the dash too. Sony MEX-N7300BD, if anyone is interested.

    The manual transmission uses the connections at the bottom of the rad as they are a water to oil cooler that is in the rad, they just sell one that fits both type of gearbox.

    Mine blew rads every two years and had done since 2004 when it was reprogrammed to 170bhp. Went through two rads in 4yrs, one an nrf and one a Nissens. The latter one of which nearly went off in my face... I bought a direnza unit only to find out...

    Manual box has built in transmission cooler. Suppose that could made difference to what I payed. Nissens I had, was few quid but quality, that got destroyed so put a BP in second time around, cheap and cheerful but lasted years with no issues...

    Connections aren't used at the bottom for a diesel. When mine goes I'm going to fit one of them there all alloy ones, direnza iirc?

    The connections are for manual gearbox oil cooler pipes. Not used on the auto.

    I think you'll need plastic weld or similar. I like Quiksteel but it needs to bed into a nice hole as it isn't too sticky. Hard as **** when cured.

    Needle in the middle should be good enough. Head temperature isn't the same as coolant but my Engine Guard head alarm is set to go off at 95°C. Typically it is between 85°C and 95°C depending on how hard the engine is working.

    There's a tool to hold the fan in place while you undo it. Diesel is left-hand (reverse) thread. Might get lucky with a sharp tap from a hammer.
