Engine Disabled does not mean EKA or immobiliser has somehow been re-enabled, it can come up if the BECM thinks the car is locked and you try to start it.
@MontyChambers did you do the Nanocom check (not while driving) on the two inputs ? No point in replacing the switch unless you're sure it's broke !!
The RAVE procedure had a missing bit between 7 & 8. It should be:
7. Extend switch plunger...
You can't change the setting because it's an input. The switch on the pedal frame has two contacts in it. Onbe is normall closed & the other normally open. Therefore both toggle on Inputs screen on the Nanocom when you press the pedal.
Well I have made one. See how it goes.
Not content with the bracket rusted out, I then turned my attention to the bracket (hook thing) that resides in the bumper. That is ok one side, totally missing the other. So it looks like I need to make...
If ur on an iPhone it’s a pain in the arse. Bold can be changed by going to accessibility and then pick your text size etc. like me if u bugger about with it u change sumthin without realising it. The iPhone is sturdy tho’ mine has been thrown 3...
If i sit inside my car n lock it with the fob from inside ,then try to start it i get engine disabled .if i open with the fob still inside ,it will start ,,,,so if it thinks its locked you will get engine disabled , if that helps ;) ..
Said engine disabled so thinking EKA has re-enabled itself somehow. Possibly RF interface caused volts to drop too low and BECM scrambled itself.
Fob batteries definitely worth checking, although I have never changed mine and I have had the car...
He was but to be fair it has been very entertaining so far.
Just done a 500 mile road trip in mine, mainly A roads, no motorways. Been faultless. I'd forgotten how beautiful the Purbeck Isle / peninsula is. Pity about the beer in Swanage. OK if...
Pressure tested the AC last week with UV dye and the condenser looks like an 80s pop star that had been shot with a shotgun. Holes everywhere. New condenser fitted today, regass, evaporated temp down to 1°.
Now we'll have 6 months of rain and cold.
Not used the 38 for 8 days I think as i needed a work horse as i had a house roof replacement to do so used the 110. Battery flat on the 38 this morning so that's on charge and decided to fit the new genuine tailgate seal. The difference in soft...
Nanocom recordings are "usually" in the same order as the screens, i.e. the first four columns are Sensor Voltage, and then columns 5-8 are the Wheel Speeds. Values 9-12 are Inlet Valves, and 13-16 the Outlet Valves.
I thought the two brake...
Did you hold the button when closing the window ? The button needs to be held until the "Window Set" appears in the dash message display. Repeat for each window.
Note: If the windows or sunroof stick or stall during closing, that can cause...
+1 on Nanocom but it is possible to get that free BMW software to talk to the M51 engine, INPA? Something like INPA anyway. Stuart got it working on here somewhere.
My disco has DSC on it and when your in soft sand it will just dig itself in same with thick mud so the first thing i do in either situatin is turn off the DSC . I learn that the hard way the first time i was in soft sand it dug itself into the...
That might be thermostatic expansion valve. It prevents a full regas and when you run it it vents to atmosphere losing gas. Takes a month or two to get low enough to notice.
Cost about £27 from an air con place 10 years or so ago. It is on the...
The pump bleeding is part of the whole brake system bleeding procedure. There are two bleed nipples on the side of the valve body, the one does the pump and the other does the master cylinder if i remember correctly.
