That is classic symptom of camshaft sensor failing.

IIRC; back probe the camshaft sensor connection… 3 wires. 12v supply, signal and earth. Meter between the earth and the signal line when cranking - looking for ~4 or 5v. My last duff one had <1v on cranking

Test it first with a multimeter

Cranking but won’t fire - back probe the camshaft sensor on the signal line (look at you tube ‘come in handy’ for a how-to).

Look at the owners name

You say it won’t crank… do you mean it cranks but won’t fire? Can you read live data from the lp fuel pump and also the hp side, at the rail? In terms of sensors - possibly the fuel pressure sensor. The camshaft sensor would allow it to crank...
