Evening all, been busy gutting my shed/barn at the house. Sold some stuff & gave some stuff away... sold a snap on top box with old hand tools, newish bobbin sander, radial arm saw, chainsaw & pillar drill gave away 4" grinders, sanders, leccy...

Replaced the bushes on the lads 90. Pretty much shot....

I’m going to take the roof off. Repaint the underside and replace the seals and windscreen to roof seal. Just need a period of dry weather.

I fitted mine dry. Both surfaces cleaned thoroughly. Do not over tighten. That's when leaks occur.

I find these videos interesting. Even though they are all basically the same the S1 has strengths as does the 90. Interesting to see the S2 ground out on the waterfall on the diff crossmember and tow ball where the others didn’t.

While laning this year we also did the famous/infamous "Bastard" lane, properly known as Horseshoe lane. It's another one of those lanes you see people driving badly on YouTube and making a complete hash of it. You can see it on the ground too...

Didn't do the sunroof panel when I did my headlining - it wasn't sagging or dirty. I suspect the sunroof mechanism needs to be lowered - wait for a few dry days !!

I put a thin bead of black silicone in the bottom of the groove before fitting, slightly less aggressive than tiger seal but does the same job. They are supposed to be a dry fit but anything to help reduce water ingress has to be worth it!

I thought it was just an interference fit. Clean and stuff into the groove. You could go crazy with tiger seal if you wanted to, but the next person to change the seals will hate you

The seal between the roof and side panel is old and tatty. Currently the roof leaks in the back corners. Anyway, I have new seals to fit. No obvious videos online, so how is it done… clean surface, apply double sided tape, or sealer then...

The YRM replacement parts are steel, the end cap is ally and the new profile sits next to the body so further risk of oxidisation.

Caught in time. Where the steel meets the ally it will get gaffer taped.

If it has come through the skin, no, the alluminium has oxidised away into thin air. It's gone. It's passed us by and is on it's way to peace eternal, it's bereft of life and can best be described as ex-alluminium-num-num. Rub down the effected...

Anywhere you have the ally next to steel you get the oxidation. If you reskin the doors, cover the steel frame with Harry Black Maskers, or gaffer tape first.
