As long as it is within spec and you are changing regularly to the interval (either time or mileage) I am of the opinion brand does not matter and everything else is just a sales technique!
I also recovered the original but I used the original covering rather than replacing and just removed it and reglues it into place. I second the need for a good quality glue. that is what makes it!
Unfortunately they are different. The later models (certainly 300tdi, not sure about 200tdi) had wider vent apertures so the screw spacing is different. and the screw pacing on the bulkhead id what determines which one you need. I had this issue...
Am I in the minority where by I do not bother priming or prefilling the filter and never have?
There is enough fuel left in the system to start the engine and leave it idling, once idling it will very quickly fill and bleed itself. May...
I had a similar issue with my station wagon body (LINK) where the gap had increased. I did ratchet strap it pull it back together but that only took it so far and then needed to space the latched out as well. Although I wasn't happy with it at...
That was a Facebook advert in on of the Land Rover groups but in true Facebook fashion I now cannot find it for the life of me! So unfortunalty I do not know.
Bare galv is Definitly the way to go but the question is whether to fit the bumperettes or leave the bumper as it is.
Another the same colour adding weight to the argument that it looks good!
I have been toying with the idea of fitting the military style front bumperette to my series for a long time. I came across this picture on Facebook market place which is the same colour as mine and it has reignited the question, if I did fit I...
It may be a good solvent to Keep things clean but it has very little lubrication properties which is another key thing the diesel fuel does in the injector pump. Hence my use of two stroke oil.
I ran a 60:40 veg oil:diesel mix for years just straight into the tank. But when I was doing that I would get through a fuel filter every 2k miles and a lift pump every 8k miles. I would every so often run a tank of straight diesel with a heavy...
That has a wide arch kit on there so it potentially running spacers. Definitly running a large offset deep wheel for a wide tyre.
Without knowing the size it’s difficult to say what would be required. But it does not immidiatly look lifted.
Make sure it is fully dry, they seem worse than they actually are if they are damp. They are also not as rough as they feel, if you have foam backed fabric you should be fine. Just make sure you have a good quality adhesive.
I had considered that, a lot of the secondary alternators mount there so it was a consideration but does not seem cheap and is a lot more work to diy than a simple turnbuckle so will try that first
I always give the advice for people looking at defenders that it depends what you are used to and what you are comparing it to. I do high milage in my 110, and would think nothing of doing 400miles in a day and regularly do for work. However it...
before I go diving into the depths of the internet where do you source you smooth belts form? I assume all I need is width and length to find the correct one once I have found a supplier
This is my problem with doing it. To do it successfully you need two people, one with the lever and wone tightening the bolts! if I do it on my own it last less than a month before needing to be done again.
That is exactly the sort of think I am...
