Also check for air in the fuel.lines if you have had pipes of fuel filter....bleed a number of times ( from both ends fuel in and fuel return to ensure all air is out and you have constant flow of fluid)

The best way is a catch rebuild new cable and bonnet slammers catches i have repaired both on fl1 and fl2 cheap fix just time and patience needed bonnet catches easy two bolts. feeding cable can be tricky but far from impossible
