OP's other posts were for a L322 MY2002. Mines had a few batteries but never asked for a code. Don't see how radio code would stop it starting.

Model and year of car would help.

I have been told they are sensitive to low voltage... the battery is showing 14.4V when running and 12.3 when engine off... could this be anything? Its done 200k plus but it did have a new gear box 2 years ago....

If it made a big bang then you need to find out where. Do they still use chains in the transfer box? Maybe it snapped? Wouldn't expect a bang type nose from low oil. Maybe

Was it a recon gearbox or just another used one with 80k on it?

How many miles has it done? around 100k is generally rebuild time. If there was no oil I doubt it would have moved at all as the gearbox and torque converter (clutch) share the same oil.

Good job I didn't ignore it as not much left on inside pad but loads on outside. Off for new pads and wear sensor. Some things you can't ignore

You need to get one from the same year with the same lights (LED, HiD etc). It also stores a backup of the mileage and I've heard the instrument cluster will take the higher mileage after a while unless you reprogram it fairly soon.

This looks like the corner of the LCM. I will take a picture of my spare one from that angle when my meeting finishes at 11:30 my time

And yes the LCM controls the lights and as they don't like water this is more than likely your issue.

First thing you need to do is fix the leak. Second is look for the part number on that module then google it to see what it is. But it does look like the LCM.
