I'm liking your approach here. You've done all the heavy lifting of the actual build and are now thinking about everything and getting to grips with all the little day to day usability improvements. Manufacturers spend millions on this kind of...
You'll not be surprised to learn of another issue that only came up while testing with the battery nearly full.
I set it to charge remotely while I was able to watch it and was pleased to see it working as described right up until the charge...
Just a wee update on driving and charging.
The car has been driving great since the 12V relay module was replaced. :D I've only driven around miles 60 since but it's been flawless. TBH I had always questioned the wisdom of using ultra cheap...
We're driving again! 😀
During testing I was poking about at the wiring and suddenly one of the relays in the relay module triggered and after a few minutes more poking I figured it looks like the relay module is faulty.
This is the offending...
Thinking about it, I think they were the ones who left the pamphlet for the Waiau Naturist site in the van, together with a drinks receipt from the Cruz Gay & Swingers Bar. Used condoms everywhere and broken bed board.
No couldn't have been...
The shunt has pack negative and positive so is able to send out the pack voltage by CAN. The inverter does the same.
By plagiarising the work of others I have a ready made way of reading the CAN from the shunt and inverter so although the charger...
As I rapidly approach my 6th decade, I'm still very amazed how every day is still a school day.
I think some are ****ed off that they don't know everything, maybe even think they do. But I love learning stuff.
It may mean you still have/create...
BTW I'm not laughing at your misfortune just your description of what happened. I do absolutely admire what you've achieved, with a great dollop of envy, because I wouldn't know where to start & I'll admit I fall asleep trying to understand some...
Looks like I cocked up somewhere.
While testing in the car I seem to have blown two digital inputs in the Nano so am now rebuilding the circuit. I'm not certain how it happened but I probably stuck 12V up it's arse and it didn't like it so...
Found the problem. The seal on the reverse piston cover had swollen so that it didn't slid in smoothly. Identified when I clamped the cover to remove the circlip and could not compress the spring. Then it went in with a bang, like the gear change...
If you've read this far, the repair was a success and stopped all slipping. However, the vehicle developed a hard change into 3rd or 4th.
Summary is that when I did the work I used a second-hand reverse clutch drum complete and didn't open it...
Hi all, having had a proper look at the leaking pipe (exactly where it goes to on the valve block) it actually goes to the bottom of the V/B to the ACE reservoir (one of the two piece pipes).
According to the LR parts list (see link) I need pipe...
https://www.blackdownoffroad.co.uk/product/discovery-2-ace-pipe-2/
I've found this & it explains what pipes have the attenuator & what pipe goes where on the valve block.
Hi, looks like I need RQB000320 (top hole on valve block to ACE ram) as long as my 'quick look' at the pipes is right.
I'll have a proper look at the weekend. Does anyone know if this is the pipe with the attenuator in it ?
Typical these things...
Brilliant, thank you so much, about the only place I didn't look !:vb-groan2::).
Out of parts 13/14/15 & 16 on list does anyone know what position these fit in the valve block please...
Hi all, I trust you're all keeping well.
Long time no posts but I have a slight misting on one pipe, see pic.
Q1. Does anyone know if the pipe goes to the front ram or the pump (haven't had time to have a proper look but think it's the top one...
