Fitted a new drop arm which may or may not be an Adwest one.
Looked at the new track rod (and ball joints) but didn't fit it. Brand new Delphi for £30 on Ebay, bargain.
There is the Foose Way running South from the airport. Apart from the ford halfway along the byway it's hardly worth the visit, apart from short cut maybe
If its broken you need a new one and will need to do some dismantling.
If its not broken then grease it up and shove it back in through the pipe.
I think it would be fair to say something is broke.
Unless you have new parts then fingers crossed...
I did spray the lock with brake cleaner and worked the catch a little. Then I loosened the stricker a little, just to give it a little movement, and I shut the door a few times to line up the catch and then retightened the stricker.
Aftermarket parts can be poor. Shame SP weren't more helpful to you.
As a side note Britpart don't manufacture anything, they are a supplier of parts, some are rubbish some are not.
Take the corner cover off the dash, unbolt the motor and pull it out with the cable on it, you will soon find out if its broken.
Top half of the dash is easy to take off, about 10mins should do it.
Just received the genuine new tensioner, wanted to change tonight but seems that I will need special 15mm socket? I have tried my standard hex head 15mm socket but seems that I need more narrow and 12 point head?
edit. probably found the answer...

Might be poor earth but you never know with other people wiring.
I have been lucky as my TD5 90 is pretty much stock and the previous owner hasn't messed around with it.
My son's Tdi conversion is pretty much stock, sort of.
