Spent a lot of time mulling over the Michelins or the Yokohoma Geolander A/T G015. Am happy with the choice; no idea how they'd compare with the Yokos.

You're right, it was £685..... incl. fitting. My mind turns to mush for anything on the Landy costing more than 100, and less than 1000. I can remember the cost of cheap parts, and the really expensive ones, just not the ones in the middle :p Alm.

Just to stick my oar in. I ran Insa Turbo Rangers (265/75 R16, with 50mm spacers) for the last 10 years. Recently had exactly the same thought - "when was the last time i went off road in this thing?" I splashed out and bought a set of Michelin...

For Gawd sake do not use one of those thick bitumen under seal, it soon cracks and traps water, There are several good products on the market to day. A "toffy hammer" tap test like what an MOT guy will do tells a lot about the state of a...

Just drill a hole in the nearest bit of body metal then put a nut bolt and washer through it, suitably covered in anti rust stuff of course. Then connect it to that. Assuming you mean an earth to the body/chassis etc and not some fancy earth back...

They are indeed JCB brake pads so are nice and easy to get replacements for. I was probably going to go with a diy trial and error approach by just cutting around with brake pad out of some some stainless i have and adding additional ones until I...

Ahhh, I understand now, and see the problem. Agree, shims would be the way to go. If it helps, I *think* the pads are JCB p/n 478/00849; I don't know of any off-the-shelf shims though. If you get some made up, let me know as I'll expect the same...

Broke the headlight washer.. rest of it was fine due to lack of speed involved, but if someone was walking between the motors it could have been worse.

I am still struggling with mine! To get it to hold when at 6 clicks the cable is still under tension when calliper is fully released (have new brake pads fitted). This results in the cable stretching regularly and needing readjusting until you...

The instructions do state that there is a coarse adjustment of the caliper lever position, but requires undoing the central screw 5mm and then pulling the lever off the spline, rotating, then depressing. You've probably already tried this, but...

Leaving the car in gear when parking, will be a hard habit to break. Sorry to hear about your truck, who came off worse? My money is on the slightly softer-nosed Hilux.

Mine needed an adjustment this week. 3 clicks as normal and parked on the hill. 10 mins later it rolled back 5 foot into the Hilux behind me….centre double locking nuts had vibrated loose green laning. May change this to a single nylock instead

I did a post on this several years ago. It all depends what the noise is. Sounds deadening material (aka the butyl stuff that you also find underneath your kitchen sink) just adds mass to the vibrating panel/area. The net result is that the...

Did you get to the bottom of this? I've found that there are a bunch of "generic" pattern-part water temp senders, labelled up as an AMR3321 (look anywhere on eBay, and even Amazon these days). These may be cheap and with you next day, but...
