The Multipla was hideous but drove well for what it was. The MK2 version looked much better as they deleted the wierd scuttle styling.
Fortunately l owned the MK2.
The Chrysler l've never driven so would
not give an opinion ! Styling is a...
My current thoughts having owned my Defender 90 Commercial for 2 1/2 years are, it's not a Defender.
lt's the new Defender.
lt's not like the old one, although there's a certain Land Rover "DNA" feel to it when driving it. Certainly with mine...
I would think it a fallacy that a safety check would really make people maintain a vehicle better. You also need to look at the correct picture. Individual vehicles don't really matter all that much. As most accidents are not caused by or due to...
Have you tried messing about with the hinges? There might not be enough movement, then try what @dag019 suggests. But I'd at least start with the hinges.
Insa turbo is a maker of remould tyres, not a specific tread. They must offer at least 10 different treads. Some are ok, some not. For road use, they are not the best. Remoulds used to be cheap, they no longer are. The only reason to get them is...
Thanks for your reply
Yeah the rear quarter was done, I’m not sure if the door shut properly before though, I’m aware of the bulkhead will be a lot of work to replace and a fair bit of money, I think I’ll have to acept the fact it’s never going...
What do you mean by 'now'? Did the door line up previously?
There is adjustment in the hinges, so it may be possible to make it better. Depends how bad it is and how much you want it to change.
Bulkheads are available (Google is your...
I wouldn't make things difficult for yourself tbh. You are simply repairing a vehicle with a replacement part, same as if it was a door, an engine, a dashboard.
All of this is clearly on the .gov site. The MoT and Road Tax use different dates and systems. I suspect Road Tax is because it runs to a Tax Year April thru March. But they want the vehicle to be 40 years for the entire calendar year.
I'm bemused (confused??) on how you are not understanding this. The screenshot I supplied clearly shows the section is 'Historic' and the first sentence which I highlighted says it needs to be built before 1 Jan 1985.....
If yours was built...
Rover V8 is a well precedented swap. Although in reality you can do a lot of things, you just need to read the guidance and regs for Historic and radically altered vehicles.
If you want to stick with diesel a 19j turbo diesel would be an easy...
Have you tried changing gear? OD is likely too tall unless on level terrain.
The engine is unlikely to have been bigger when new, as the only offering was 2.25 in petrol or diesel flavour.
The petrol 2.25 should be more than adequate in a...
The guidance on the .gov site is very clear. You'd be better off reading it than spending the time to post a thread in the hope someone will go and read it for you.
A 90 has to be one of the most simple and easiest vehicles to maintain in the past 50 years. Pretty much any garage should be able to do 90% of the jobs on one. Very few specialist tools needed either.
Assuming it is a 90 you have. These are good quality springs: https://www.flatdoguk.com/search.asp?types=FD+SPRINGS
You can get standard height or +2" in the standard spring rate. I wouldn't go for HD ones. The +2" will give about 1" of lift...
tbh Terrafirma shocks generally haven't been all that great, you may want to check them when you remove them and may well end up making a mess of the fronts ones in order to remove them.
What do you use your vehicle for?
There is a lot of...
Do you know what was changed? Do you go off road at all? Longer shocks can increase suspension flex, you don't need to have the lift to get this benefit. But there are many many different ways to modify the suspension.
Bang sounds more like a half shaft. What sort of noise? When you say the diff was noisy?
There are like 100 rotating things between the drivers seat and the road. Very unlikely to be able to isolate and say a diff is noisy while driving.
Not...
