Hi all,

Many years ago I fitted a set of Zeus Timing gears to my then new 200TDI. They lasted longer than the vehicle.

My 300TDI has snapped the belt twice now. One was a not Dayco belt and the first I think I probably over set the tension.

Does anyone have a set of Zeus Timing Gears for a 300TDI? Or could I get some made ? Anyone have an old 300TDI with a set fitted they no longer want ?

Interested if anyone else would be interested in having a set given the number of belts that snap these days.

Welcome to LZ.

Never seen with my own eyes a cambelt snap on any vehicle, and if I was to see one I guarantee there is a reason, and it will be to do with the owner in one way or another.

With the updates to the 300 timing chest (moving the lip about etc) the belts last well enough for most that I'm not sure the gears are that desirable?

This, coupled with, the lack of real damage when the belt goes (some pushrods and, if you're really unlucky, a rocket) it seems hard to justify the Zeus kit.

I'm sure I read of some issues with the gear set too, but I can't recall?

(I've got a Zeus part fitted to my 2.8tgv so I'm not against the company, just not sure about the gears)
