come to start it this morning and all i got was tick tick from the starter. Thinking a flat battery i put a charger on it ....nothing happend, tried jump leads on another RR ...still nothing

New battery fitted a couple of months back but i tested the voltage 13.5V

did a battery test ...all OK

plugged the scanner into it and one code it came up with was a supply fuse ?

i know this is going to sound stupid but what should i be looking for ?

its a 2006 4.2 v8 RR btw

Normally, the ticking would indicate a duff starter motor. Locate it, bang it with a heavy implement and it may turn over. This works for a while, but you will end up having to replace the starter.

How about fuses for a start if that's what the scanner said? Assuming it was a compatible scanner.

Fuse failure would cause a message centre notification I thought!

Supply Fuse for what?? Which module reported the fault?

Also which diagnostic device you rocking??

got a snap on solus 12.4

fuses are fine
just disconnected the battery and re attached it and the codes have gone

checked the starter terminals and the switched live was loose so tightned that up but still no joy ....just keeps on ticking

thinking starter ? ive tapped it with a lump hammer but still no joy

Starter solenoid possibly, you could try a jump lead from the battery pos to the tag with small wire on the solenoid. Also worth checking the relay and ignition switch.

Is the key battery OK, mine had similar tried other key it started

Shouldn't effect it.

Don't even need a battery in the key at all to start it
