I have just got a 2009 FL 2 HSE.

Can I replace the HALOGEN headlamp units with XENON headlamp units without additional wiring?

I did this with my S CLASS MB and the only thing required was to have the vehicle "computer coded" to recognise the Xeonons and stop them flickering

Not my expertise but recall the whole topic of replacing original lamps is fraught with construction and use issues.

Unless you mean simply changing bulbs which is a waste of time and money.
 
what are you thinking of:

just upgrading to xenon lamps but the same bulb fitting (eg H4) like halfords brilliance range ?

or were you thinking of HID ?
 
Yes , change the headlamps (not the bulbs or HID kit) for Xenon headlamps. I will ask the local LR dealer if they know, thanks anyway. I am surprised no one has attempted it.

get you now. still a bit of a new vehicle for people to have much experience of messing around upgrading stuff, a lot still under warranty.

but, please come back and let us know what the answer is, then the next person to ask the question will have the answer.
