The pics don't show the standard length brake pipes left on when its got a 2 inch lift on it...good job I didn't do any major axle twisters!!!

This thread shows what lz is all about friendship and help its fantastic to see the zone pull together to help when things are not right

Think I have some 2inch extended braided hoses in the garage will have a look tomorrow morning

I'm no mechanic but I was truly shocked at the standard of work done on Dave. Poor Sarah, apart from anything else she has taken her family out in what was basically a death trap.

I have a couple more pics, but the video was on someone elses camera. Neil and Dean spent at least 6 hours fixing the worse of it.

I am sure a list and pics which are labelled will appear later but when I saw one of the track rod ends basically fall off when Neil touched something else, it gives you some idea.

Other things from memory are the bush on the arm which holds the axle in place, king pins both sides, wheel bearings, leaking fuel tank cause the hose had been cut off, diff bolts missing and the other loose, gearbox mountings not tightened up, prop shaft seized, lighting been done using domestic connectors. And if I remember that much you can guess how much more.

I also would name and shame

Oh and Sarah, some of those pics are the wrong way up :D:D:D:D:D

definitely been bodged and requires some welding apart from other work, not as rare as it should be ,and was an accident waiting to happen

Did she take anyone with her who knew about motors when she went to buy it ?

Obviously not :(

A certain other female member on her also fell for the look of her 90 without taking anyone and also has had a few issues. Done it myself too before I knew I didn't know anything ( if that makes sense ).

Totally and completely bang out of order to have bodged it like that and sold it as something else but sometimes we do make it a bit easy for them to get away with doing it

I think we've all done it, it's a right of passage of motoring. :(

The good thing about landrovers though is that at least there is room for a proper look underneath, you just need to be prepared to get a bit dirty, or take someone along that is :)

Yeh but.......,............it had a lovely shining blingy bit on the front 😜

shocking workmanship..
I`d sue the bastids for all I could get !!!!
the local trading standards agency must be shown the poor state of the vehicle as purchased,
I bet it was not the first complaint either..

back in the day I used to do mobile motor mechanicing, and I had quite a few of the fairer sex who would only let me touch there "babies"
I took pride in my workmanship, as anyone who uses spanners & tools on motor vehicles should do.
a "service" was not just change the oil & kick the tyres, but a wheels off, jacked up in the air, and check all round job.
pride in workmanship still continues in my life in whatever I do even if its cutting my small bit of grass in the garden, or mixing & laying tonnes of concrete "still"

my `ol disco was up in the air for 3 months while I put right anthing underneath that needed doing, as to me, the old girl was and still is a part of my life.
Its the way I do things,
its the way I approached the cat c "bump" repairs on the mrs newest car, her Lexus.
the result is you just cannot see the repair/ or replacement doors.

I am an aries born child, so is it born into me to be thorough ??

pics coming later. could have filled 2 sides of a4 with faults.
nipper needs to go to school now tho, Chelsea tractor time......
