Depends, you could buy one in "perfect" condition and the IRD disintegrates a week later!

At least you know you've got to get a VCU and as the prop was removed previously and current one is stiff - you'll probably need a recon IRD sooner rather than later - so can cost it.

Engine starting problems sounds poor. No HDC also means (I believe) no TC, so in my book that's a negative.

"Outside" looks good. If you want it, it sounds like a costing exercise allowing for VCU/IRD and a bit extra for the other bits it mentions.

Wish I could buy a Freelander in that condition at that price over here! Second thoughts maybe its just as well I can't with 4 cars spread around the property already!

Yep he has a canny way of saying the VCU is on its way out - he seems to know a bit about freelanders - no HDC etc - honest too... about the 4th injector .

The glow plug behind the pump is often not replaced. Iirc early L series heads only had 3 plugs anyway.
It's an honest-ish ad but I suspect he knows the VCU is on its last legs.

same thing here in Portugal, just the other day a breaker wanted €450 for a hard-top.
3 doors, same colour as mine, for that amount I wouldn't think twice, even if I got to use it just for spare parts.

Similar to my 1.8 - it cost under a grand, spent some time and cash on it - its getting there now...:)
