got my 110 about a month ago now and done a fair bit to it.
It had a 2" lift so i replaced with standard britpart springs and shocks.
On the old suspension I used to get a vibrating noise in 5th when my foot lifted off the accelerator but now the suspension has been changed hte vibration has gone. I can only guess that it was to do with the angle the prop shafts were going in at - the castor angle was all wrong when I viewed it before! and the other parts that should have been fitted to compensate (raduis arms etc) for this were not there.
the steering pump pulley bearings had gone so I replaced the steering pump bled it - seems ok so far for a britpart  - will see how long it lasts!
got a shutz gun & sprayed german chassis grease into the chassis after cleaning it thoroughly and leaving it for a few days to dry.
did a bit of welding on the o/s outrigger (front) with a stick welder. not the best welding ive ever done but the 2mm section was patchey but I managed to do a bit of weld filling in the holes after I created them :) - plating is definately hard with an arc welder - definately going to get a mig.
took the wiper moter off and checked wiper stems - one it bent and stiff straining the motor so will change soon as I get a chance.
changed the door hinged on the drivers side nad replaced the door draught excluder trim.
degreased the engine to check for leaks as oil is spattered down the underside - turned out to be the cyclone breather which was not only dirty but the hoses had only been pushed on but not tightened so oil was squirting out - also injector 2 or 3 ( second from the front of the vehicle) is leaking at the point where it is inserted into the engine so I am geussing that it is not torqued up correctly and or the washer has been reused.
I intend to get new injectors (seen some bosch injectors on ebay for £110) and fit them soonish or at least check the torque settings properly
the exhaust was also just hanging off the manifold (loosely connected) which was why the cab smelled slightly of deisel fumes on the drive back from the initial purchase
changed the steeirng wheel as the previous owner had placed a light brown disco one on - would have been ok if it was black but looked just plain wrong so put the original one back on.
headlights are to be replaced tomorrow and just about to give it a full service as just purchased the service kit and oils. (Engine, gearbox, transfer box and diffs)
Also got a timing kit which I would like to fit myself but have never done this before but Im looking for a good write up (one that explains it to a complete novice :))
Seems like a growing list of jobs to do before winter arrives!
slowly going over the surface rust on teh chassis with zinc primer and overcoating with black spraypaint.
I want to change tghe tyres at some stage - the current tyres are michelin 7.50 s and ive got 2 sets - one road tyre set and another offroad set with one spare on teh back door making 9 wheels in total all on 16" standard LR rims.
I want to get 235's put on - Id think that I need new rims but Id like to know whether I can fit 235s on the current rims if anyone knows?
Anyway - just like to say thanks to buster again for his helpful post section and all the advice Ive received from the other posters here.
thoroughly enjoying getting to know my new/old LR :) while the weathers good!

Take a look on the wheels, if they are standard steel ones there should be a size marked somewhere. Will say something like 5.5x16. If its 5.5 then you will probably get away with it but I think the normal recommended size is 6.5 or maybe 7. Someone will be able to correct me ;)

P.S. that is a lot of reading

Yes - sorry about the reading length !

the steels are 5.5 x 16 x 33 so guess that it would be better to get the correct size steels.

Keep me awake, someone ... Please!

I'm an old gimmer and have difficulty staying in focus for War and Peace without paragraphs!

lol
going to take photos soon - honest - got to say it looks pretty standard - the standard britpart suspension though still looks high compared to other defenders that i pull up against and i asked at paddock if it was standard before I ordered ! - also higher at the back and (theres more) higher on the o/s which I can only assume that is to compensate for the drivers weight as the fuel tank is set firmly in the middle of the chassis rails at the back.
camera on chargge now and pics 1st thing or maybe 3rd thing - gotta blow the dust off the lens 1st though init.
just like to add that i fell asleep writing the first bit too:D

heres some pics of the defender

as you can see its got plenty scuffs and dents. slowly im gonna clean it up and respray with tecaloid coach enamel so the new dents scuffs etc will be mine.

cant find anything local to match the green paint currently on it anyone know if this is brionze green - i know its hard to tell from a photo but ...........
As the 1st pic shows the new hinges are a different shade of green - the closest I could find at the local motorfactor!
kinell - too much writing already:D

Good luck with your list, just be sure that the injecters jou have seen on Fleebay are genuine Bosch and not some oriental make. May be worth getting yours overhauled.

yes - thanks for reminding me - Ive read posts on the web re: oriental fake injectors and the feedback is iffy on the injectors (btw just realised they are the nozzles)
I might ask pos what the spec/part No: for his replacement italian made nozzles were as mine should be the same being an H reg 200Tdi - noticed quite a few things are more expensive on the 200tdi!
