Just bought a series 3, 2.25 and it apparently has had s recon head and injectors and new glow plugs, I’ve been trying to get it running for 2 days, I’ve bled all the system today and managed to get it started on idle but after only 5-10 seconds conks back out, is it a fuel thing or cam belt timing of injector pump timing or injectors, I’ve read that much stuff I’m list now

Go for the simple things first. Check air filter and hoses for blockages, including hose internal collapse. And then make sure the fuel system is properly bled, and isn't sucking in more air while running.

i think i've bled it the best it can be, i've tried starting with air intake un attached just in case but made no difference i'm thinking its something not to massive but im just no mechanic so worry about timing issues etc as its beyond my remit

With an old diesel, air and fuel are usually the cause of problems.
Try opening the top banjo on the fuel filter, pump the hand primer on the lift pump, and see if any air bubbles emerge.
Are there any fuel leaks generally? Is the vehicle in a clean condition? And do you know when it last ran?
 
I don’t know when it last ran but I’ve bled everything possible and don’t seem to have any fuel leaks looking at under neath on floor, it had a recon head and injectors and new glow plugs before I bought

Even if perfectly bled, it can suck in more air if there is a leak in the suction side of the system.
I doubt if anything to do with the head is causing it to stop running, those will run with a cracked head and a blown head gasket.
And if it is starting, the glows are probably working.

I’m going to try have another look this morning but hopefully it’s what you say and not the head if or anything serious

Crack the top banjo, pump gently on the lift pump, and look for bubbles. Or you can cut the fuel line after the lift pump, and insert a piece of clear tubing to look for bubbles in the fuel.
Bleeding the fuel systems is an art. I assume you are using a quality filter, Delphi are best, and that you have got all the four sealing rings in the right places, they are all different ?

At the moment it is as it came, I do have a clear pipe running down from filter to injectors and did have bubbles in it yesterday and at one point when I undid top banjo whilst turning it over I seemed to get more air in that pipe but persisted bleeding on injectors and pump and if finally all went so hopefully it’s out
 
Well come to it this morning and I have air in the pipe from the fuel filter down to injectors and when I went to tighten the jubilee clip it wouldn’t tighten anymore but spun round so I’m hoping it’s pulling in from there so I’ll try a new jubilee clip on and get it nice and tight and see from there ‍♂️♂️

I am assuming you mean the pipe from the filter down to the injector pump. If you put plastic pipe in the injector pipes it will blow it away quick as you like.

But it seems that it was sucking in air, as suggested. If that sorts it, all good. If not, keep looking for leaks, I am fairly sure that is the problem.

It’s the clear pipe from top of filter by banjo nut and joins onto the end of the injectors and that is where air is gathered I also tightened up the filter this morning as that didn’t seem quite tight enough either

Return pipe from the backleak rail to the filter. That will do nicely.

Well done for posting the pics, they are always helpful in diagnosis. Looks reasonably clean and well cared for, although I am not certain the clear pipe is the right pipe for that application.

I would replace that with the right one when possible, and also ditch the filter element in favour of a Delphi one when you can get one.

thats the return side so it wouldnt be sucking in air but if it has air in it you are sucking in air somewhere between tank and injection pump

clogged exhaust ?
