Hi all,

I am mounting a small DVD player to the side of the centre console. I'm locating it here so it's accessible to change DVDs (I was going to put under the passangers seat but it would hit if putting the seat all the way forward). I took the "side plate" to the console (to the right of the passengers feet - RHD) off, and their looks to be a wiring loom that I can splice into (but not much slack!). It looks like someone previously has spliced a red wire into the purple/white cable for example.

The DVD player has red (+12V ACC), yellow (+12V CONSTANT, BATT) and black (GND) (I have already grounded this one).

I guess I could splice into the power connectors to the back of the CD interchanger in the glove box but didn't think of that when I was out there. Is it easy to remove?

Am looking for an easy way to splice in without needing to remove the whole dash and/or centre console :) Also, any advice for best routing cabling to the boot greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Ben

CD Changers needs the top of the dash to come off to gain access.

depending on current draw, there is a BATT live to the Cigarette sockets either opposite the iggy switch, in the centre console cubby box or on the rear of the centre console....again check the load rating of your unit and ensure the lighter feeds is man enough for the load.

As for routing to the boot....maybe through centre console, under rear carpet under rear seats then to wherever you need...or round the passenger footwell and under the door sill covers and carpet, up over the rear wheel arch and into the rear side compartment where the Sat Nav and DSP amp is...

Power voltage: DC12V
Power consumption: 15W

OK, so I found some right voltages to plug into by testing the wiring where all the sat nav, car computer is etc. I then fed the cables along with the others going over the wheel arch and along the bottom of the doorway. However, after lifting the carpet to find a way of getting the cable under the carpet, under the passengers seat there is actually a bunch of cables I would have spliced into there in hindsight.
