Hi. Had my freelander for a couple of months now and am upgrading the stereo. Can anyone help me as to where i can get a wire through from the battery into behind the dashboard somewhere.. this is driving me crazy as on most cars there would be a grommet with space to add an existing wiring..:scratching_chin:
 
under the engine bay fusebox is a hole through the bulkhead, use a coat hanger comes out in the passenger footwell.

depends on how much power you need, but there are existing radio feeds on the existing connectors, and also additional permanent and switched feeds in the fusebox under the steering wheel.

thanks all so far... I'm wiring in an amp and i need to get a 6mm live cable from the battery to the boot where my amp and sub sit. Would be good to be able to pull these though a grommet somewhere instead of taking it around the door, which is the only way i can see of doing this as i really can't see anyway through..

think about what your doing....your wiring an amp to the BATTERY!

My in-law bought a rangie with and amp wiried to the battery...she went through 2 batteries before i pointed out that the amp was constantly drawing power from the battery.

my adivce is hook a heavy duty relay to your ignition switch and pass the amps power though teh normally open contacts, that way your amps not goign to suckk you battery dry when you've parked up.

All car amps have a remote connection wich connects to the headunit's 12v out so its on, it then switches the amp on

if you want halfords in the boot sell it and buy a 106, lower the 106, alloys, bucket seats, window tint, tescos car park. jobs a goodun.

But if you are trying againe then the amp can be wired to the battery. You need to put a fuse in as close to the battery as Posable. On the amp will be a remote point there are two options here ether wire it up to a realy and switch or to the remote out on the head unit ( normaly the blue wire). Also if you don't want any interference the aux cable should run down the opersit side to the power cable.
