Just had a v8 specialised re-do all the wiring for my defender 3.9 v8 efi and it now runs like a dream. He is very good and reasonable priced and knows exactly what he is doing I would recommend him to anyone. Thought I would post some good news about a 3.9 v8 as you only hear the bad. It has been a long procees to do the conversion as it was a 2.5td. Was defently worth doing just to see the look on peoples faces as many think defenders are slow. Just need to do the finishing touches ready for a full re-spray next year and a bit of pimping. The company who did my electrics are called armson automotive. Would say have it professionally wired in correctly as people do forget to put alot of things in that need to be there.

Mine never had a Cat for a start on the Range Rover, so no Cat. Iv used a full stainless system from Rimmer Bros including Tubular Manifolds. Its made for the 3.9 in the 90. Sounds lurvely.

I think they also do systems for ones with cats too.Not sure.

I have got the tune resistor in now for non cat so will have to get full stainless but want a custom one made as I want a side exit before the rear wheel in body work think it looks nice

Just took it round the block, OMG she goes it is faster than my normal car I can't believe it. Glad I put the rear axel off the disco with disc brakes on think it needs it lol

how much was the rimmer bros kit in the end?

id really like something for the disco but cant decide.

tubular manifolds FTW but cant decide whether to make up some side exits (but might get annoyed with the volume eventually) or go for their full sport system (but need something suitable for offroading, big tailpipes are a no no cos they get ripped off)

help/ideas appreciated

I am going for a 3" out the rear or 2x 2" one either side as I am only going green laining not off-roading just ordered some halo lights and getting RDX grill and surrounds for Xmas and will also get the LED light package. Mine is a pick up and I want the chrome bars in the back but unsure where I will find this? I will post pics of the whole process soon as lost lap top charger and iPhone won't let me upload pics

Also just ordered the non-cat downpipes ready for the custom exhaust I was toying with the idea of having one either side like a side step but thought if I or some1 was to touch it after a blast it would be rather hot and will run a little close to the fuel tank and as I sit on top of it I thought against it lol

just ordered a full exhaust system from paddock and 3 point harnesses as i forgot i threw the old, also ordered gearbox X beam as i bent the old one trying to fit it with the CATS. they are suprislying easy to bend.

Same here!

When uploading to photobucket, near the bottom select image size and go for '17" screen" that's usually the right size for forums etc.

Forgot to say were you asking me about the rimmerbros? I think when I bought the full system and manis it was around 480 i think. I think thts really good for two manis and a fuill system.

Need a K&N cone but does any1 know from the top of there head what the diameter is? Don't say go out and measure it as I am 70 miles away from it at work so will be difficult but want to order one as I have booked a MOT for Wednesday so bit of a rush to get everything and fit everything don't want to leave it till last min
