Hi

Im new here and this is the first Discovery ive ever owned.

Just tidying up a few niggles but this is my main one - please help me if you can!

Im led to beleive that the previous owner fitted a new Wiring harness and the harness plug / connector is there to be connected to the female socket for the heater slider mechanism, however in its place are 2 spade connectors 1) runs to the relay on the heater blower motor 2) and the other probably for power running behind the dash towards the drivers door

Because of this bypass that has been fitted it means i have full number 4 blow speed on every setting.

If i remove the two spade connectors and connect the proper connection nothing works, and the wires for this connection head upwards towards the back of the dash and i dont know where they go...

Any advice is welcome

Thankyou :)

Thanks, the purple and black wires are where the spade connectors are in place of the connector

So from the diagram there is a wire going to the resistor and one going to the relay? is that right... (both got spade connectors on the outer most connections if that helps)

What does this explain and how can this help get all 4 slide settings to work?

Thanks

The aircon button also seems to do nothing, i dont want to pay to re-gas it, if you guys think this may be something to do with the wiring?

Also before i shell out for one - is an auto electrician going to be able to get the loom connection working? or would i need to provide wiring diagrams etc.?

Thanks, Sean...

Anyone on here that could sort this out for me? At a price of course ;) desperate now especially with the weather lately

Problem solved by an auto electrician, severed wire found & repaired, dodgy wiring bypass removed, all is well :)
