Hi
I am having a fight with the wipers on my 1984 90. I have replaced the wormgear, the wheelboxes (both greased as well) and the spindles and everything seems to work OK until I attach the wiper arms and blades and try to actually wipe the windscreen. it looks like the wormgear isn't powerful enough to overcome the friction between the blade and the windscreen and is disengaging from the wheelbox
Any idea

Think the wheel box may need a tweak to close up a little.
Many seem to have a similar problem (I haven’t) so may be best to wait for a confirmation @Hicap phill springs to mind.

but also worth checking splines in wipers and the little adaptor from blade to spindle. You need to first find out which bit is/isn’t turning.
Good luck

IS the wormgear the same as the cable that runs from the motor through the wheelbox? If it isnt then you definitely need to replace that as its the main culprit in all of the wiper issues. Genuine landrover wiper boxes are much better as well. I would replace the relay on the bulkhead and also the parking switch on the motor even if they havent gone. You just know they will go as soon as you put your dash back on.
