My wipers just packed up at exactly the moment you would least want them to. Bristol Ring Road, lots of traffic, heavy squal. They went slower and slower and then just stopped. Is this likely to require a new motor or is there some other potential cause that I could troubleshoot?

If they went slower & slower it is probably new motor time, but you could try some lubrication first. If it was electrical they would have just stopped.
