:mad:Hi all, I have a problem with my wipers not working. so far I replaced the wiper switch and the motor and drive rod. all the spindles are new and the wheel boxes seem to be moving freely, I carn't think of any thing else to check as i have power and according to the haynes manual it's all wired correctly, any tips, tricks or advice would be really greatfully recieved cheers

Have you tried applying 12 volts directly to the motor? The motor could be seized, have a poor earth, have worn brushes or have a non working switch inside. Does the motor actually run?

Definitely worth checking the earth. In my previous Landy (S3) the wipers packed up, and I found after several frustrating days that the earth was clipped on to the windscreen (or rather had come unclipped). It was a proper connection, but may have been added by a previous owner (so many!) because of earthing problems. (Aren't modern cars boring!)

Thanks for the replies and yes I have tried 12v straight to the motor and checked the earths, had a good mess about today and i think the new switch is up the swanny so i have run the wipers through an auxillery swicth but kept the power to the old switch aswell for the washer pump, abit of a wierd way around it, but it's working. thank f--k. cheers
