I have a small issue with my wipers.
Intermittent is fine as is slow mode, but the second click up will often stall after a 1/4 wipe. Sometimes it works but is quite slow and then will speed up.
Going from slow to fast works occasionally but will often be slower than slow ..
All very confusing really.
Any ideas welcome.

Also there is a small screw and locknut on the gearbox/output housing ... what does it do ??

I’m not great with electrickery mate, but that screw is interesting. I’m wondering if it adjusts the swipe in any way. A bit like taking the lash out of a steering box. I’ve got my dash stripped out at the moment and now is the ideal time to get my wipers better than they are. When they are on full pelt the arms hit the bottom of the windscreen rubber and I’d like to improve on that. Not sure if it’s the motor or the actual gear on the spindle ??

I'd suggest taking off the multi plug connector and checking the cleanliness of the terminals. Also check that they look like they can get a bite on the male terminals on the motor.
These multiplugs are not a convincing fit into the wiper motor at the best of times.

Screw/nut sets backlash in motor gear box Turn screw in until it touches then back a tad and do lock nut up without moving screw. Must not be set tight.
My motor has same symptoms as yours, have sorted it before by cleaning connections as above post and getting some lube to the bottom bush in the motor can.
