I've been thinking as you do... my td5 defender has quite a good heater for those in the front with the addition of a bilge blower. However my kids freeze in the back.

I've moved the ecu etc out from under the drivers seat and I'm left with the space. I was looking at a diesel heater that blows backwards for the passengers, but looking at the price I'm wondering about building a electric one under the seat. Using scrap yard parts like the electric heater from a peugot and a fan blowing out through the bulkhead behind the front seat.

Has anyone tried anything like This??

Interesting. There are now some chinese diesel heaters for around £200 not tried one but they dont look awful.

My plan was to fit heated seats in the rear

Heated seat kits are £90 a pair on Paddocks

Here's an old post from another forum showing how someone fitted them. Difflock Forum The last poster says he put his through a relay fed by the ignition so they couldn't be left on - well worth doing!

@gazman I've just done a bit of Googling and you can get higher rated ones for £102.60. There might be even hotter ones! Paddocks keep the £102.60 ones anorl

I'm not sure the MSH60 is higher rated! The only difference Ive spotted so far is the MSH60 seems to have control switches with LED's in them so you can see that they are on! Not sure though, needs more research.
